After having 3 separate and unique custom jewelry stores in the Los Angeles area from 1970-1990, we moved to Maui, Hawaii in 1991. We began here as a custom/fine jewelry shop on Lahaina town’s historic.... Front Street. Our ocean front store was called Turtle Reef jewelers..... specializing in original Custom designs using Diamonds, Tanzanite and Tahitian Black Pearls. As we did then, we continue to design and manufacture the finest quality.....of ALL styles and designs..... with ALL types of gemstones. Our true specialty was..... and stil is..... OPAL • Black Opal • Boulder Opal • Crystal Opal • and more.... (all types of Fire Opal). Larry Smith, the owner, designer and GIA Graduate Gemologist (since 1971), hand-made much of the jewelry himself. He still takes pride in creating Timeless and Classic designs of the finest quality.... with good value; 30 years of satisfied customers will testify to that. In 1992, we also began to make and sell 14k gold Toe Rings. We were one of the first jewelry stores (ever)..... that believed people who have fine jewelry, also need a fine Toe Ring. In the beginning, we made all Toe Rings in only 14k yellow gold and then we added Diamonds. Soon, we filled requests for 14k white gold, and then 18k gold. That lead to ALL combinations.... with Platinum, Diamond, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire .....and more! In 1997, we launched our original web site: www.Gem-Smith.com. With good response, we have since expanded our Toe Ring line to include ALL LENGTHS of anklets and belly chains (waist chains) 14k/18k…… yellow gold, 14k white gold, and now Platinum. These are offered with, or without Diamond and gemstone ‘accessories’. When our line of products increased, we changed our name to Maui Toe Rings. We now offer 2 Divisions: RETAIL - for individual purchases • WHOLESALE - for shops and salons that would like to sell these products themselves.
